Happy 2017! Can you believe it’s 2017? I started blogging about recipes and such back in 2010, so to think I’ve been doing this 7 years. I just can’t even wrap my mind around it, each year seems to go faster than the year before. Does it feel that way for you? Last year, my husband and I made words for the year, so our word last year was ‘live’. The year before was about restoration for us, so I feel like we really did ‘live’ last year and had a renewed outlook on life in general. The jury is still out though on what our word will be this year. I feel like for myself it’s going to be ‘unplug.’ Is that awful? It’s so true though, I want to make it a point to put my phone down, the computer down, and all distractions in the evenings to truly focus on my kids.

I feel like I tend to borrow pieces of time from my work hours and then from my family time and really I need to focus 100% on work during my work hours and 100% on my family during my time with them. Life is so much of a balancing act, I’ve gotten a little out of balance.

Now, all that to say, let’s start the new year by menu planning. Let’s get right to this week’s menu!

Monday- Start the week off by making a big batch of Slow Cooker Taco Meat then pair it with taco shells or over nachos!

Tuesday- On Tuesday, have a little bit better-for-you meal with this Stuffed Acorn Squash.

Wednesday- Now, it’s the perfect day for some meatloaf, paired with these Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

Thursday- This Homemade Fried Rice is perfect for dinner, then make a batch of waffles for breakfast.

Friday- On Friday, finish out the week with Balsamic Glazed Steaks. Make these Hot Chocolate Brownies for dessert.

This looks like a tasty week to me.

Happy New Year!
