Regular apple dumplings are delicious, but they can be a calorie bomb for those of us watching what we eat. This easy and delicious little appetizer/dessert is great for Fall Themed parties and allows you to have just a little sweetness without the massive calorie intake of a full sized dumpling. We found this adorable idea on Pinterest, and it worked so well, we had to share it with you!

2-3 tart baking apples, peeled, cored, and sliced into 8-12 slices (you’ll need 24 to 30 total and you may cut these in half width wise, to get a chunk of apple, if you wish)
1/2 c light brown sugar
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
3 tbsp melted butter or dairy free margarine
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a rimmed cookie sheet.
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
Roll out pate sucree on a floured surface, into a rectangle about 12×15 inches in size and about 1/8 inch thick. Cut with a knife or pizza cutter into wedges. To do this, cut large rectangle into smaller rectangles – about 5 inches by three inches – this should give you 15 rectangles. Cut each rectangle on the diagonal to give you a wedge shaped piece of pastry.
brush all wedges with half of melted butter and margarine and sprinkle with half of cinnamon/sugar mixture. Top each wedge with a slice of apple. Roll the wedge of pastry up around the apple, and try to cover all sides of the fruit with the pastry. Place on baking sheet.
Brush all completed mini dumplings with remaining butter and sprinkle evenly with remaining cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and lightly caramelized. Allow to rest about 2-5 minutes before serving.
