Oh hushpuppies! Yummy balls of golden fried cornmeal dough! Oh how I’ve missed you! Until now! If you’ve ever lived in the south, you know that any fish fry is not complete without hushpuppies. I found a “copycat” recipe for a fast food restaurant’s hushpuppies, and I modified it to make even better. I hope you enjoy these hushpuppies as much as I did! (We had these hushpuppies with fried fish, twice-fried plantains–part of my son’s social studies project–and corn on the cob. The meal reminded me of my childhood–except for the plantains!)
