
These burgers are bursting with flavour and are twice as good the next day. This is one way to sneak vegetables into a menu for picky eaters.
Burger Ingredients
2 pounds of beef
1/2 c stale gf breadcrumbs (Use leftover bread from our recipe or 4C gf breadcrumbs)
2 eggs or 1/2 c aquafaba
1/2 finely diced onion
1/2 finely diced red pepper
1/2 finely diced green pepper
1 tbsp fresh oregano
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 clove garlic, minced
pinch sea salt
pinch pepper
Basting Sauce Ingredients
1 tsp dried oregano
pinch cinnamon
(one lemon’s worth of)lemon juice
8 tbsp olive oil
Tzatziki Dip Ingredients
1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and diced
1 clove garlic
juice of one half a lemon
1 cup yogurt
1 tbsp fresh mint
1 tsp sea salt1
tsp black pepper
1/2 red pepper
1/2 green pepper
1/2 onion
Lemons and orange peppers, sliced and grilled, optional
Instructions
Mix burger ingredients together and form into patties 6 inches wide. Put in the fridge for at least an hour. Make sure to preheat your grill!
Mix Basting Sauce ingredients and put in fridge for at least an hour.
Mix Tzatziki ingredients and put in fridge for at least an hour.
Put your burgers on the grill (use medium high) and cook 6 minutes a side, basting with the basting sauce once or twice.
Assemble your burger, topping with Tzatziki Dip, grilled lemon slices, or both.
