I grew up in a small town in East Texas eating all kinds of fried foods. When I am feeling a little nostalgic for home, I cook a meal like we had growing up. Tonight I made fried pork chops with rice and gravy and green beans. I felt like I was back home!
Fried Pork Chops
Ingredients:
Better Batter Gluten-free Seasoned Flour
Buttermilk
Pork chops (I used medium-cut bone-in pork chops. In the past, I have used pork scapollini and other cuts of pork. Just use what’s on sale this week!)
Oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Prepare a skillet for frying with about ½ inch of oil. Preheat oil over medium heat.
2. Set up a breading station. Put buttermilk in a shallow bowl. Put seasoned flour in a shallow bowl or on a plate.
3. Dip pork chops in buttermilk and then in seasoned flour making sure that all sides are coated. Tap gently to remove excess flour.
4. Place pork chop in skillet with preheated oil. Cook, turning every 3-4 minutes, until dark golden brown or until pork chop is cooked through.
5. Serve with your favorite side dishes.
