Both St. Patrick’s Day and Purim are almost upon us – and both have a tradition of having a traditional tipple. St Patrick’s Day celebrates the conversion of Ireland to Christianity by St Patrick, and Purim celebrates the salvation from genocide of the Jews during the Persian empire by Queen Esther. There is a saying during Purim that, “ A person is obligated to drink on Purim until he does not know the difference between “cursed be Haman” and “blessed be Mordechai” To celebrate both holidays we’ve created these brownies. To make them family friendly, you can omit the drunken glaze. You may feel free to substitute any alcohol for the whiskey, if you wish.
