Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll feed the village. We believe in the power of education to help lift developing communities out of poverty; and we believe that strong local leadership helps protect developing communities from exploitation by outside corporations. That is why we partner with the Burma Project, in coordination with NEED Myanmar and Child’s Dream. The leaders of NEED are teaching multinationals how to farm sustainably and how to sell their crops to create a thriving economy. And working with the other organizations has maximized accountability and efficiency, as well as dollars-spent-for-actual-projects, rather than administrative costs.

I cannot tell you how excited we are to see multi-national led leadership expanding this project way beyond the scope of our initial dream, (see updates below) – and how rewarding it’s been to work successfully (and frugally) with multiple NGOs to keep this project moving forward in a sustainable fashion. I wish the whole world showed this lack of territorialism and willingness to share resources to help others….!

This month, you can supercharge our efforts by purchasing something at Better Batter – every item you buy on our site is earmarked for BOTH our food bank program AND our Sustainable Ag project. Even if you don’t need anything, you can donate to our project HERE.
